Atheer Soot
Is a sound project by Helsinki-based visual/sound artist and performer Moe Mustafa.
Atheer Soot, an Arabic phrase meaning “a sound that resonates in the void,” It focuses on the interconnection between memories and sound, taking listeners on a journey back in time to explore Moe’s childhood and translate those memories into atmospheric and drone soundscapes. For Moe, the process of sculpting sound is therapeutic, involving a deep dive into the subconscious where mind and intuition are free to wander.
The sound of Atheer Soot shifts from soothing to melancholic, creating sonic worlds that comment on the age of social media, glitched subjectivities, and emotional detachment. This project invites listeners to experience the resonance of memory through carefully crafted sound design, offering a meditative escape into Moe Mustafa’s reflective auditory landscapes.
